There's a new album coming. And it's political.

Scottish duo The Proclaimers have announced a new album. It will be Craig and Charlie Reid’s first since 2018’s really very good indeed, Angry Cyclist.

The new record - the Fife born twins twelth - will also feature the talents of Manic Street Preachers’ guitarist and singer James Dean Bradfield. He plays on the title track, as well as the reportedly Bond theme-esque, 'Things As They Are'.

The record, entitled Dentures Out, arrives 35 years since the release of the brothers debut album, This Is The Story, and 34 since the release of their breakthrough second, Sunshine On Leith.

According to a press release, the new record is The Proclaimers’ “most political album” since the latter record, and tackles topics such as the weaponising of nostalgia for electoral capital, press barons, the bubble of modern life, and more.

The record is due out on September 16th on Cooking Vinyl, but if you can't wait that long for your Proclaimers fix, there are tickets available for the boys' August tour, here.
