Red Hot Chili Peppers gig cancelled in Glasgow tonight

The band say they are 'deeply disappointed'.

The veteran funk rockers been due to perform at Bellahouston Park this evening as part of their ongoing global tour, though fans have now heard that the gig won't go ahead as planned.

A statement issued by the Red Hot Chili Peppers this morning announced that "due to illness" they will not be able to perform their show in Glasgow tonight.

They said it's hoped the event can be rescheduled, with the band - fronted by Anthony Kiedis, 59 - adding that they're "deeply disappointed" to not perform this evening.

The group said on Twitter; "Due to illness RHCP will not be able to perform in Glasgow tonight July 1st. We are working on ways to reschedule this show. Please hold onto your tickets and wait for an update soon."

They continued; "RHCP love Scotland and are deeply disappointed not to be able to perform the show. Thank you for your patience and understanding."

The 12th Red Hot Chili Peppers studio album, Unlimited Love was released on April 1st, 2022.

It debuted at number one in ten countries, becoming the first US number-one Chili Peppers since 2006's Stadium Arcadium.
