Having recently announced his first solo record and dropped a track from it, Mumford & Sons frontman Marcus Mumford has now shared another song, Grace, the first official single from the album.
The new tune features the vocals of Danielle Ponder, who will be supporting Marcus on his US tour. He is also joined by bassist Pino Paladino on the track, which he wrote with the upcoming album’s producer, Blake Mills.
Marcus teased the release of his new track on Twitter yesterday, simply by posting two words “grace” and “tomorrow”, along with a photo of himself drinking from a glass that covers most of his face.
Check out official video for “Grace,” which was directed by Diane Martel (Miley Cyrus), here:
Marcus’ self-titled debut solo album will land on 16th September. The LP will also feature Cannibal, which the artist shared earlier this month. Cannibal will be the opening track on the record, and came complete with a video directed by Steven Spielberg.
Revealing the news on Twitter of working with the famous filmmaker, the musician said: “On Sunday 3rd July in a high school gym in New York, Steven Spielberg directed his first music video, in one shot, on his phone.”
Fans who pre-order the digital album will instantly receive Grace and Cannibal. The two songs make up the opening two tracks of the album.
In November, Marcus will embark on a UK tour, starting in Sheffield on the 14th, before heading to London on the 15th. He will then play in Norwich (18th), Birmingham (19th), and Exeter (20th).
The tour will then roll on to Bristol on the 22nd, Manchester on the 23rd, and Liverpool on the 24th, before coming to an end in Glasgow on the 26th November.
