Michael Jackson’s son Prince has remembered his father as the album Thriller turns 40 and maintains he was the “greatest” music star of all time.

On Friday (28th October) Prince joined Good Morning Britain to talk about the legacy left by Jackson on this milestone celebration of the iconic album.

Speaking about the fame to hosts Adil Ray and Charlotte Riley, he said: “I was born into it – I was born in ’97 in the middle of the History tour – so anytime we were travelling around, there was always people surrounding him and, for me, that just kind of felt normal.

“When I started to realise that this was something more was when I started watching videos of men fainting over my day. Even now, I’m understanding the full weight of his legacy – as I grow up, as I learn more about his history. His impact is so much deeper than I can fully comprehend.”

He added that he holds “so much love” for his father both as “a human being” but also professionally.

Prince continued: “It pushes me to go for it and to be better, but I also just like to take a moment, to sit back and go ‘my dad really was the greatest. He is the greatest. And that’s worth celebrating.”

As previously mentioned, Jacksons’ infamous album Thriller is celebrating its 40th anniversary today. This comes after reports that a ‘making-of’ documentary of the record is in the works.

Reportedly, Sony Music Entertainment have teamed up with Jackson’s estate to produce the project, which is yet to be titled. Nelson George has also been brought onboard as director for the movie, which will feature never-before-seen footage and interviews to tell the story behind the record-breaking album.

On top of that, in February this year, it was reported that Graham King (Bohemian Rhapsody) had secured the rights to make a film about the singer’s life and career and had been signed to produce the biopic, titled Michael.
