Dolly Parton has confirmed long-held rumours that she has a "secret song" hidden at Dollywood.

Fans have heard rumours swirling for a while that a song has been stashed away in a 'Dream Box' at the resort in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

The song is due to be released in 2045.

Dolly elaborated about the scheme while appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, when she was asked about the project.

She confirmed: “That’s the truth,”

“We do a lot of things at Dollywood, and one year, we thought about that.

“They asked me if would write a song that nobody would ever hear.

“I’ll be dead and gone, well I might not be, cause I’ll be 99. You know me, I might still be hoppin’ around.”

She put the CD in a box with a CD player and some notes about the song.

Parton confessed she regrets her choice to lock the song away.

She now wishes she could release it, as she says it's a really great song.

Dolly explained: “I don’t know what they’ll do with it, but I have regretted that because it was a really good song,

“I keep wantin’ them to let me dig it up and put something else in it that isn’t as good.”

She added that she hopes everyone enjoys it when it is finally released.

She’ll be 99 years old when it is released.

Dolly also recently celebrated being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
