Fans have been snapping up tickets to Madonna’s upcoming Celebration Tour to the extent that second, third and fourth UK dates have been added. And the Queen of Pop has taken to social media to thank people for their "love and support".

With Madge set to perform a total of four nights at London’s The O2 in October as part of a major world tour, she has posted a video on Instagram and Twitter saying: “I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. And I'm so grateful for all of your support. And I can't wait to put the show together and have a moment with each and every one of you on the stage, to celebrate the last four decades of my journey.”

The pop icon added: "I don't take any of this for granted."

Friends and fans reacted positively to the video, with DJ and music producer Diplo writing, "U better book me for afterparty."

American DJ Honey Dijon added: “Congratulations Love! There is only one Madonna and thank you for your art and contribution to music and culture 🌟🌟🌟.”

One person wrote on Twitter: “Can’t wait to see you live! Finally!!”

Another commenter said: “Thank you for making our lives so happy for the last 40 yrs... 👑💜.”

Madonna’s 35-city global Celebration Tour will kick off in North America on Saturday 15th July, and will then make its way to Europe, where the legendary artist will hit 11 cities, including those hotly-anticipated four London dates. The tour will then wrap up in Amsterdam in December.

In a statement, the Material Girl said: “I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for."

You can listen to Madonna on Virgin Radio 80s Plus on DAB+ in London and Central Scotland, online and on smart speakers across the UK, as well as via the Virgin Radio UK app.
