More names have been added to the impressive bill for Wychwood Festival, with Happy Mondays announced as a headliner.

The legendary Manchester band will join previously-announced headliners Travis, as well as other artists Heather Small and The Proclaimers.

Happy Mondays, fronted by Shaun Ryder, will headline the Friday night, 2nd June, while multi-BRIT Award-winning Scottish band Travis will headline the Saturday. Sunday's headliner is still to be announced.

Also new to the line-up is chart-topper and pop icon Melanie C. Whilst rumours have been circulating for some time about the Spice Girls playing Glastonbury, the singer is confirmed for a solo festival appearance at Wychwood.

Northern Irish indie-pop act Ash are set to bring their array of hits to the Cheltenham-based festival, as are Eastbourne’s Toploader, and techno-pop punk rock trio Republica will certainly be ready to go.

Grammy award winners Soul II Soul, known for big hits Back to Life and Keep on Movin’ will be at the festival, as will Birmingham’s The Electric Swing Circus.

One of the key bands from the UK ska revival, The Beat, have also joined the bill, as have London’s nine-piece Jamaican Rhythm & Blues band, The Dualers.

Scouting For Girls will bring anthems such as She’s So Lovely, Elvis Ain’t Dead, and Heartbeat to the festival. Oh, and Mr Motivator will be back to get everyone pumped up!

As well as great music, the event will also offer laughs, with a comedy line-up that includes Angela Barnes, Mike Cox, Tony Cowards, Catherine Flanigan, Jon Wagstaffe on Friday 2nd June. Dianne Spencer, Steve Day, Sarah Johnson, and Adam Beardsmore will perform on Saturday 3rd June, while Jack Gleadow, Faye Treacy, Andrew Bird, and Chris Brooker will bring the lols on Sunday 4th June.

The much-loved family festival will return to Cheltenham from 2nd - 4th June 2023. Having offered an eclectic mix of music and creative programming since it launched in 2005, the festival will be moving to a bigger site in 2023, at Cheltenham Racecourse. The new site will house new venue Howlin’ Pete’s, which will play host to some unique activities over the weekend, such as: Barrioke, Hip Hop Karaoke, Junior Jungle, and Elvis Lesley.

Wychwood will also present over 100 workshops and activities for families across the weekend.

Tickets are available from the official Wychwood Festival website.
