TalkTV host Piers Morgan had much to discuss when he joined The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky today (Monday 27th June).

Across the weekend, Paul McCartney took to the stage at Glastonbury festival, becoming Worthy Farm's oldest ever headliner at 80 years young.

While praising the former Beatle for an “amazing” performance, Piers made it clear you wouldn’t catch him at the famous festival any time soon.

He told Chris: “Let me make one thing crystal clear. I was talking about the experience of attending festivals, which, albeit when the weather is as glorious as it’s been the last few days, is a barely acceptable experience.

“Let me take you to a few festivals because I went to a few in my teens. They are the most stinking hellhole experiences on God's earth. And the moment the rain gets up at Glastonbury, you may as well bury yourself into a pit of manure.”

Despite never wanting to go to Glasto, Piers did say Macca was a highlight, adding: “I think that was one of the greatest things I've ever watched. Paul McCartney at 80 playing for three hours, 35 songs, including half of them that would be in the pantheon of history as greatest songs ever written by any British musician.

“To see him at that age, that vitality, that energy with that crowd. I thought the moment when he turned and sang that duet effectively with John Lennon was one of the most remarkable, moving things I've ever watch.”

Glastonbury might be over for another year, but summer is still rolling on with Wimbledon celebrating 100 years of the competition.

On his TalkTV show, Uncensored, tonight, Piers will be sitting down with iconic tennis player Martina Navratilova, and will be chatting about the big issues with the sporting world.

Piers explained: “It's very timely because there are several issues, I think, which are really big right now involving not just one sport, but generally, with which she has a firm view. One of which, of course, is what you do about Russian athletes right now and can they compete in the events like Wimbledon?

“Wimbledon has taken the decision that because of our government sanctions, it's inappropriate. And as a result, you don't get points for performing at Wimbledon. Martina’s view is she never played Wimbledon for the points, she played for the trophies and the glory, the legacy and the history. But there is a debate about how far do you take punishing Russian athletes, Russian artists, Russian, any individuals, for the performance and behaviour of the government.”

Piers Morgan Uncensored airs on TalkTV every Monday at 8pm.
