The soap star turned top drama pick Katherine Kelly joined Graham to chat about her brand new ITV drama Innocent.

Katherine takes the leading role in series two for a brand new storyline, playing lead character Sally Wright, who is fighting to prove her innocence in the case of a murdered child.

Following the success of the first series, Katherine explains why she was so drawn to playing Sally: "She felt really real to me, there is a strength for that very reason that she wants to go back to her village and that takes courage and she didn't do anything wrong and she thinks that's her right"

"The physical tension that that would set up in somebody is something that I really wanted to explore and I haven't seen that for a while in a heroine"

Chatting about her move from soaps to more intense dramas like these, Graham asked what choices she'd made to pave her successful path post-Coronation Street and Katherine explained: "I just take every job as it comes, and every script as it comes... I don't really have a game plan"

Series 2 of Innocent starts on Monday 17th May at 9pm on ITV
