The incoming Barbie movie is just the start for toy giant Mattel who has 45 movies in development based on their brands. The film, which stars Margot Robbie as the leading lady, struts into cinemas on July 21.
According to The New Yorker, Mattel has surplus films in development including Daniel Kaluuya's Barney the Dinosaur, a Hot Wheels film with J.J. Abrams, American Girl, Magic 8 Ball, Major Matt Mason, Matchbox, Masters of the Universe, Polly Pocket, Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots with Vin Diesel, Uno and View-Master, lead by Mattel Films.
The green light for the movies will depend on the success of the much-anticipated Barbie at the box office which has been rated a 12A.
