The young actress's latest role is a much more serious and adult turn.
Fans were delighted to see Amelie Bea Smith, the voice actress behind the latest iteration of Peppa Pig, appear in ITV’s latest drama Hollington Drive.
Her new role is as daughter Eva in ITV murder drama Hollington Drive. The story revolves around two adult sisters Theresa and Helen, and how their lives are changed when a child is murdered in their idyllic suburban neighbourhood. The first episode aired this Wednesday, and there are a further three episodes to come.
A viewer tweeted a shout out to the young actress, saying“It's Peppa Pig from Bly Manor #HollingtonDrive”. Another twitter user said she couldn’t hear anything but Peppa once she realised who the actress was.
The ten year old actress has already built up an impressive resumé, appearing in Eastenders as foster child Daisy for a run of seven episodes in 2018 and 2019. She also appeared in the wildly popular Netflix series The Haunting of Bly Manor as Flora Wingrave last year.
Amelie took over the role of Peppa from now 19 year old actress Harley Bird, who had held the role for 13 years. Speaking to This Morning in June about how she made the role her own, Amelie said, “Well, I don't sound exactly the same as the other people who have done Peppa Pig before but I obviously listened to it a lot when I was younger.
"So I kind of went from there and adapted it slightly to my voice how it is normally.”
