Alanis Morissette is working on a sitcom based on her life

Move over Fleabag, the ‘Ironic’ singer is creating a single-camera sitcom.

Alanis has revealed the new project, called Relatable, will be inspired by her life and will air on ABC in the US.

As well as executive producing, she will also write original music for the show.

The plot of Relatable will follow a woman in her 40s who is married and with children.

The woman in question spent her younger years as a rock star and became a symbol of female independence.

The show will feature the differences between perception and reality, where her public and private personas are very different.

She has said the show will be loosely based on her stratospheric rise to fame and her family, but the characters are fictional and non-biographical.

 Alanis recently hit out at the new documentary about her that hair aired on HBO Max.

The film, called Jagged, is part of the Music Box documentary series.

It focuses on the success of her 1995 debut ‘Jagged Little Pill’.

The star withdrew her support for the film following the premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

She said the film contains “implications and facts that are simply not true”, and accused the team of a “salacious agenda”.

Alanis says she “was lulled into a false sense of security” and insists: “This was not the story I agreed to tell. I sit here now experiencing the full impact of having trusted someone who did not warrant being trusted.”
