Wands at the ready! The first full look at the magical reunion of Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint is finally here.

The 20th anniversary special doesn’t just feature the famous trio but also a plethora of famous faces, including Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane and Tom Felton, to name only a few.

Return to Hogwarts airs on New Year’s Day on Sky and NOW TV, and promises to share old memories and make new ones.

In the glossy trailer, all three main stars Daniel, Emma and Rupert (who obviously played Harry, Hermione and Ron respectively) are seen reminiscing around a fireplace, before a circling around the magical sets of Diagon Alley, Platform 9 ¾ and of course, the Great Hall at Hogwarts.

Other cameos to look forward to include Matthew Lewis, who of course played Neville Longbottom, and Bonnie Wright, who starred as Ginny Weasley.

Speaking in the trailer, Emma said: “When things get really dark and times are really hard, there’s something about Harry Potter that makes life richer. It’s a strong bond that we’ll always have.”

Meanwhile, reflecting on growing up in front of the cameras for a decade, Rupert reminisced: “It’s a very overwhelming thing because I’ve watched you grow up and I’ve seen kind of every stage in your life. It’s a strong bond that we’ll always have. We’re family, we’ll always be a part of each other's life.

For Daniel, he shared what worried him about wrapping up the film franchise after 8 films and 10 years, adding: “The thing that scared me the most was the implication that the most meaningful thing in our life was done. There’s something so joyous about seeing everyone and being like ‘it wasn’t though’.

It’s not just the child stars who get to walk down memory lane with fans though, as Ralph Fiennes spoke about being offered the role of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

Of his iconic take on Lord Voldemort, Ralphe said: “My sister has children who were then around 10 or 11, and I told them about this Voldemort. And they said ‘what, you’re being asked to play Voldemort? You’ve got to do it!”

Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will air on January 1st 2022 on Sky and NOW.
