Is it just a big lunch or could a baby Bridgerton be on the way? Viewers have gone into overdrive after clocking the character cradling her tummy in new shots.

Netflix have gifted fans a sneak peak into the exciting upcoming second series of the smash hit period drama - sadly minus the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) who has made an exit.

Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) has caused mayhem over a picture where it looks like she is holding her stomach while conversing with Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).

One fan wrote: "She looks pregnant here."

Another wrote: "Is it just me or does Eloise look pregnant?"

A third commented: "She is pregnant or I'm just hallucinating?"

This season the focus is on Lord Anthony and will follow the storyline of the second book, The Viscount Who Loved Me, and him finding a suitable wife after taking a liking to new lady Edwina.

However, her sister Kate (Sex Education's Simone Ashley) isn't happy at all about the romance and is determined to put a stop to it.

Actress Adjoa Andoh recently told Digital Spy about her character Lady Danbury in season two: "Well, if you remember, at the start of season one, the Duke had been absent for a while. Lady Danbury has many fish to fry, and many people who she loves and wishes to challenge and support – you'll see more of that going forward.

"I think there's plenty to keep Lady Danbury busy, Duke or no Duke. There are pies with her fingers in, all over."

Derry Girls actress Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Featherington) told Radio Times about her “closer” relationship with Colin Bridgerton: "The drama has amped up a lot… We're shooting all those big dramatic scenes for the end. It's exhausting but very satisfying.

"I think it's safe to say that you do [get to see more of Penelope's life]. And you know, those final moments of series one was definitely a peek into her life. I think in series 2 you kind of see how the sausage gets made and all that's happening”.

The series is set to return to Netflix in March. We can't wait.
