The final episode of season 11 airs this weekend.

Fans were left in bits last week after two beloved characters, Sister Julienne and Dr. Patrick Turner, were left unconscious after a train crash.

No one is quite sure whether they are going to survive or not.

Earlier this week, the BBC One drama also released some first-look images of the season finale, and things didn’t look too promising for the pair who were photographed being carried out of the wreckage unconscious and on stretchers.

Now, the broadcaster has shared a teaser clip of this week’s episode, and it hasn’t helped.

In the preview, we catch a glimpse of the chaos the crash has caused, and the staff at Nonnatus House are dealing with the aftermath.

At one point, we hear Nancy Corrigan (Megan Cusack) in a panic, asking Fred Buckle (Cliff Parisi): “I don’t where they are, Fred!”

We can guess who they are talking about.

Just after, Dr. Turner’s son, Timothy, says to his mother: “Mum, Dad and I weren’t speaking.”

To which she replies: “That can’t be helped now.”

At the very end of the clip, Sister Frances (Ella Bruccoleri) looks terribly upset as she says: “Nonnatus House will sink, and we will drown.”

Of course, fans began to speculate again what could happen to two of their most loved characters.

Writing on Twitter, one viewer said: “I'm not ready to say goodbye to anyone in the show, much less Dr Turner and Sister Julienne,"

Another said: “Omg this looks like it’s going to rip our hearts out 😭”

A third wrote: “I’m not already hiding behind the sofa, you are!”

When the penultimate episode aired on Sunday, viewers were already threatening they were going to riot if Dr. Turner and Sister Julienne didn’t survive.

One person said: “If anything happens to Dr Turner or Sister Julienne, BBC, I shall be marching down to you and giving you a very, very stern talking to.”

While another wrote: “Honest to god, if anything happens to Sister Julienne or Dr Turner, I'm rioting."

We’ll have to wait and see what the final episode has in store!

Call the Midwife continues on BBC One on 20 February at 6:40pm.
