We could really do with Dame Berry in our kitchens giving us a little helping hand. The food guru will soon be back on our screens in a new three-part series where she will meet members of the public who aren't quite up to scratch with a rolling pin but want to try and impress their family and friends.

Cue three pan-burning, inexperienced Cardiff cooks; fireman Mark, youth worker Callum and boxing instructor Thaer who want to create a surprise afternoon tea for local youth charity leader Soraya.

On the menu for the afternoon tea are red pepper, cheese and chive tartlets, mini scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream and a four-tier clementine cake.

Helping Mary is DJ Roman Kemp who tries his first ever brew and Celebs Go Dating’s Tom Read Wilson who's on jam-making duty over at the Women’s Institute.

Fans wrote on Twitter: "What a fabulous trio, can't wait!"

Another added: "What's not to love. Tom Read Wilson on Prime Time TV?"

A third praised: "Oh my goodness, lucky you."

The cooking queen previously said about her new project, based in her own home: "I can’t wait to share my knowledge and encourage the novice cooks – and with my celebrity sidekicks by my side we will make it fun all the way!"

Emily Hudd, managing director of Rumpus Media, said: "Mary’s back to sprinkle her magic over some very special get-togethers with recipes that will inspire everyone to get into the kitchen and celebrate!"

Mary Berry's Fantastic Feasts begins Wednesday 9th March at 8pm on BBC One.
