With the last ever episode of Peaky Blinders fast approaching, things are definitely ramping up for Tommy Shelby.

In the first look images of episode five, there appears to be two new arrivals that could spark trouble for the Brummie gangster.

The first is a character who has been absent from the final series so far- Finn Shelby (Harry Kirton), the youngest of the brothers.

He has been spotted briefly in scenes throughout the season, mostly appearing in the background and prompting fans to wonder where on earth he has gotten to.

Well, it seems he will be having a much bigger role in the final few episodes with first look images indicating his return (finally).

In one of the images, we see him standing next to Arthur Shelby (Paul Anderson) who has had a rather difficult time of it this season. The pair appear to be in conversation and look quite concerned about something.

Another image shows Finn looking confident and stern-faced (much like his older brothers) in a sharp suit.

Could he be getting more involved in family affairs given Tommy’s declining health?

Pictures from the upcoming episode also indicate Tommy’s illegitimate child, Duke Shelby, will also have a part to play.

In a turn of events during last week’s episode, Tommy discovered he had a son after Esme Shelby-Lee gave him the news in exchange for gold.

She described Duke (Conrad Khan) as a “thief” who worked on a fairground but believed there was “more to life than big wheels and carousels”.

It is unclear whether Duke knows that Tommy is his biological father, but that information could just lead him to the life he wants.

The image doesn’t reveal much about Duke’s role in the upcoming episode, but it does confirm he will feature in Tommy’s life in some way- which could have a major effect on the family as well.

All of this comes after director Anthony Byrne revealed some interesting nuggets of information about the season finale of Peaky Blinders.

Speaking exclusively to RadioTimes.com, he announced the episode would have a runtime of 81 minutes.

He added: "It feels very, very different to the rest of the season. It feels very, very different to anything we've done before. It's very epic in scope. It feels like a film – it's a kind of dry run for the feature film."

It’s impossible to predict what might happen as Peaky Blinders comes to an end once and for all, but it sure is going to be an interesting one.
