Nobody puts Baby in the corner. Or Jennifer Grey. The actor revealed her late great co-star Patrick Swayze broke down in tears before filming the 1987 iconic movie Dirty Dancing.

The star admitted she didn't want to initially take on the Dirty Dancing role alongside Swayze after working with him on Red Dawn in 1984 and being pranked constantly.

But it was Patrick's emotion that, thankfully, swayed her to take a chance on Swayze and the movie. The star said he had 'tears in his eyes' as he apologised to her during a screen test and assured her: "I love you, and I’m so sorry."

Speaking on The View about her memoir, Out of the Corner, and the star who sadly died from pancreatic cancer in 2009 aged just 57, she recalled his 'macho' and prank-loving behaviour while shooting Red Dawn put her off working with him ever again.

"Patrick was playing pranks on me and everybody. It was just, like, macho, and I just couldn't take it. I was just like, 'Please, this guy, that's enough with him,'" she said.

But he won her over during a screen test, and she revealed: "He pulled me down the hall and said to me, 'I love you, I love you, and I'm so sorry. And I know you don't want me to do the movie.'

"And he got the tears in his eyes. And I got the tears in my eyes — not for the same reason. I was like, 'Oh, this guy's working me'. And he goes, 'We could kill it — we could kill it if we did this.'

"We go in there and he takes me in his arms and I was like, 'Oh, boy. I'm done,'" Grey shared.

On his natural charm, she said: "There was no competition. He was, like, the easy chair I'd been dreaming of my whole life."

Grey will soon be stepping back into her Baby shoes in a sequel to the movie, 35 years after the legendary movie landed.
