The highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series will be landing on Disney+ next month.

Up until this point, details about the plot of the sequel have been few and far between. We know that Hayden Christensen will be reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, along with Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan and that the sequel will be set 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith- but everything else has remained a mystery.

Now, director Deborah Chow has given fans a taste of what to expect.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Radio Times she teased it was going to be “personal story” and more “character-driven”.

She added: “But at the same time, because of the nature of the characters, there’s definitely an epic feel to it, and a scope to it. So it’s a little bit of a mixture of both, of trying to tell a very personal story and sort of an epic landscape.”

The six-part series will see Obi-Wan living in the sand dunes of Tatooine as he watches over a young Luke Skywalker and is set to contain lots of nostalgia for long-time Star Wars fans.

As Chow states, there will be a lot more of the classic lightsabre fights.

She said: “Something that The Mandalorian doesn’t get to do much is the classic lightsabre clash. We do know we’ll see a bit of that in this series.”

She added:  "I think the difference with this series as opposed to, you know, maybe some of the films is that, because it's a limited series, and obviously it's done for streaming, this is about one character – we're not trying to tell the story of the whole galaxy. So it's a more personal story.”
