No fear SATC fans, Samantha Jones will be part of the fabulous four once again.

Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That, is heading back to screens for series 2 very soon, and the writers behind the popular drama have confirmed ultra-confident Samantha will make a comeback.

The outrageous character was played by Kim Cattrall throughout the entire original series, from 1998 to 2004, but Kim declined the opportunity to revisit the iconic role when the show was rebooted last year.

Without Kim on board, the writers had to be creative with how they showed Samantha on the show, and during the first series, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) messaged Samantha while over in London to try and arrange a meet-up.

When asked if she was available for a cocktail, Samantha responded: “How’s tomorrow night?”

Show creator Michael Patrick King is planning to do something similar for the second time around it seems.

In an interview with Variety, Michael was asked if Samantha and Carrie will chat again over text, and he replied: “Yes.”

On the original text exchange in series one, the top writer explained: “It’s very funny because every single one of the writers has a different version of what happened during that conversation.

“So, I think there was some champagne. I think there was a grownup back and forth, and a love affair that they realised that something’s more important than being afraid to heal.”

It turns out Kim found out about the SATC revival like the rest of us…online.

She told Variety: "I was never asked to be part of the reboot. I made my feelings clear after the possible third movie, so I found out about it like everyone else did — on social media."

She described the storyline for her character Samantha as 'heartbreaking'.

"It’s heartbreaking," she said. "... Everything has to grow, or it dies. I felt that when the series ended, I thought that’s smart. We’re not repeating ourselves. And then the movie to end all the loose ends. And then there’s another movie. And then there’s another movie?"

And Just Like That is available to stream on NOW.
