Netflix confirms The Lincoln Lawyer will return for series 2: ‘LA’s finest lawyer is back’

It sounds like Netflix has answered the prayers of The Lincoln Lawyer fans everywhere. 

Mere weeks after fans were calling out for more of the legal drama, the streaming giant has confirmed Mickey Haller and the gang will be back for series two. 

The Lincoln Lawyer, based on the Michael Connelly book series of the same name, launched in May, and landed straight in the Netflix Top 10 TV shows in the UK.

The series focuses on criminal lawyer and recovering addict Mickey, played by Manuel Garcia-Ruflo, who helps his clients from the back of Lincoln Continental instead of a standard office. 

Sharing the exciting news on Twitter, Netflix wrote: “LA’s finest lawyer is back. The Lincoln Lawyer will return for Season 2 on Netflix.”

Starring alongside Manuel is Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, and Angus Sampson, while author Michael is at the helm as a writer and executive producer.

If the title sounds familiar, that’s because Matthew McConaughey starred in the 2011 film adaptation, which focused on the story within the first book. 

The 10-part first series is based on the second novel, and luckily for fans, there are six books in total, meaning there’s lots of story left to tell. 

Writer Michael also updated fans on his social media, and confirmed what story the second series will be based on.

He Tweeted: “Happy to share that The Lincoln Lawyer will return for season 2 on Netflix. Season 2 will use The Fifth Witness (2011) as the main source material and will be 10 episodes long. No release date has been announced yet.”

When the first series came out on Netflix, fans were quickly chomping at the bit for a second outing. 

One fan Tweeted: “15 minutes into The Lincoln Lawyer and I'm begging Netflix to renew it for Season 2 and 3,” while another said: “The Lincoln lawyer was absolutely excellent, I need a season 2 immediately.”

A third commented: “For anyone who hasn't yet watched The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix, watch it ASAP. Haven't seen anything this good for a while now.”
