A new comedy series starring Neil Patrick Harris is coming soon and we couldn't be more excited. Uncoupled stars the actor as a gay man in his mid-40s in New York who finds himself blindsided and single after his 17-year relationship ends. Back in the daunting world of dating after almost 20 years, will he survive?

The official synopsis reads: "Michael Lawson (Neil Patrick Harris) seems to have it all figured out. He’s a successful New York City real estate agent with a great career, a supportive family, close friends, and a loving relationship with his partner of 17 years, Colin (Tuc Watkins).

"But when Colin unexpectedly moves out on the eve of his 50th birthday, Michael is completely blindsided. Overnight, he has to confront two nightmares: losing the man he thought was his soulmate, and suddenly finding himself a single gay man in his mid-forties in New York City.

Fans commented on the trailer: "Nice to see Neil Patrick Harris on screen again! This time he's playing an actual gay man. That's a fresh sight and this looks promising. Looking forward to this."

Another added: "Cannot wait! This looks really fun. Glad we're finally getting some fun, gay movies where no one has to die or get beaten up. Woo hoo!"

A third penned: "As much as I loved Neil Patrick for outdoing straight actors playing straight... it'll be very interesting to see him play a role that is near and dear to his way of life. He is still one of the best actors living, no matter his orientation."

One viewer added: "This cast is everything! I love the energy, I have to see this!"

"I feel personally attacked by how real this will be. LOVE it. Ha ha," wrote one fan.

The series is co-created by Sex and the City's Darren Starr and Modern Family's Jeffrey Richman, and stars Tisha Campbell (My Wife and Kids), Brooks Ashmanskas (The Good Wife), Emerson Brooks (The Last Ship) and Marcia Gay Harden (The Morning Show).

'Newly single, forgot how to mingle'. Uncoupled premiers on July 29 on Netflix.

We can't wait.
