'Sick and twisted' The Idol is on its way to the Sky small screen from the dark minds of Euphoria's Sam Levinson and The Weeknd aka Abel Tesfaye, starring Lily-Rose Depp.

The series centres around the music industry and 'will focus on a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult who enters into a complicated relationship with a rising pop idol' and it doesn't look like it's going to be PG-friendly.

Peppered with drugs, hookups and hardcore dance rehearsals, a choreographer in the trailer says: “Lick it, spank it, drop it, camera, money... More, more, more, orgy!”

Tesfaye will star as 'a self-help guru, club owner and leader of a modern-day cult' who starts dating a wannabe pop star (Lily-Rose Depp) and will chronicle 'the sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood'.

It's not yet known when the series will land, but it's thought the six episodes will drop towards the end of the year.

The cast also includes Troye Sivan, Tunde Adebimpe, Blackpink’s Jennie, Anne Heche, Melanie Liburd, Steve Zissis, Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, Hari Nef, and Nico Hiraga.
