Bridget Jones’s Diary

In this first instalment of the beloved series, everyone’s favourite eternally single 30-something Bridget Jones (Renee Zellweger) tries to give her muddled love life a much-needed makeover. First she has to get over Wickham-inspired love rat Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant). But after her hideously awkward first meeting with the seriously-stunning-but-stuck-up Mark Darcy, played by none other than 1995’s Pride & Prejudice star Colin Firth, will she choose brains over brawn, or end up alone again?

Keri Russell stars as Jane Hayes, a socially awkward, Jane Austen-obsessed American who’s desperate to find her very own Mr Darcy. To help things along, she decides to splurge her life savings on a week-long immersive holiday at UK theme park Austenland – but her romantic fantasy doesn’t quite go to plan when she runs out of spending money. Also starring screen icons Jennifer Coolidge and Jane Seymour, this easy-watch rom-com will charm any hopeless romantic.

Bride & Prejudice

Classic Pride & Prejudice gets a Bollywood makeover with this all-singing, all-dancing 2004 movie. Aishwarya Rai stars as eldest sibling Lalita, a single woman whose parents are hell-bent on marrying off their four daughters to perfect partners. While Lalita may be determined to go with her heart, the course of true love never does run smooth – enter American Will Darcy (Martin Henderson) who she takes an instant dislike to. Will Lalita get her happily-ever-after with the man of her dreams?

Pride, Prejudice and Mistletoe

Get the mince pies and Christmas tree out! This yuletide rom-com movie centres around wealthy businesswoman Darcy. When she returns to her hometown for the festive season, she ends up bonding with former high school rival Luke Bennet while planning a charity event for her mother. Offering a gender-swapped take on the timeless tale, this contemporary Jane Austen retelling sees Darcy soon start to realise what’s most important in life.

Pride & Prejudice: A Latter-Day Comedy

Set in modern-day America, this adaptation of Austen's 1813 novel sees college student and wannabe author Elizabeth Bennet go all out to achieve her ambitions of literary success while simultaneously rejecting societal pressures to find a partner, get hitched and ‘settle down’. After swerving the advances of several suitors, Elizabeth meets handsome businessman Will Darcy – but will he leave a lasting enough impression?
