She’s in a new film alongside Harry Styles this month, but that’s not the only movie we’ll be able to see Florence Pugh in before the year is out.

As well as starring with Harry in Don’t Worry Darling this September, Florence will also be in another psychological thriller, called The Wonder, which is coming to Netflix in December.

The streaming platform will host The Wonder after it receives a select cinema release in November. The film is set in the Irish Midlands in the 19th Century and sees Florence Pugh play a nurse brought to a village to observe an 11-year-old girl.

The story is adapted from a 2016 novel of the same name by Emma Donoghue, who is best known for writing Room, which was turned into the Oscar-nominated Brie Larson film.

The Wonder's synopsis says that “a young girl stops eating but remains miraculously alive and well. English nurse Lib Wright is brought to a tiny village to observe eleven-year old Anna O'Donnell.”

The synopsis continues: “Tourists and pilgrims mass to witness the girl who is said to have survived without food for months. Is the village harbouring a saint 'surviving on manna from heaven' or are there more ominous motives at work?”

Alongside Florence Pugh, cast members include Detectorists’ Toby Jones, David Wilmot from The Crown, The Virtues' Niamh Algar, and Tom Burke from Strike. Elaine Cassidy, Ciarán Hinds, Dermot Crowley, and Brían F. O'Byrne also feature.

Before we get to see Florence in The Wonder, we can see the Black Widow actor alongside pop megastar Harry Styles in Don’t Worry Darling, which is directed by Olivia Wilde, and hits cinemas on 23rd September.

Harry and Florence play 1950s couple Jack and Alice Chambers, who live in the model community of Victory, but as they explore the company's Victory Project, Alice becomes aware of the horrifying realities behind the picket-fence suburban life.

The Wonder will be released on Netflix in December.
