It has been a long time coming for fans of Indiana Jones, but the premiere of the fifth movie is on the horizon and first-look images of Mads Mikkelsen’s villain have finally been revealed.

After 15 years, Harrison Ford will be returning to our screens as the infamous Indiana Jones, and it looks like a has a formidable new enemy to face.

First revealed in Empire Magazine, first-look images have been released showing Fantastic Beasts actor Mads Mikkelsen as the new villain Voller, who is reportedly partly inspired by a real-life Nazi officer and NASA engineer Wernher von Braun.

Details surrounding the new film have been pretty sparse, but we do know it will likely be set in 1969 and will see Indy taking on ex-Nazis as the space race between the USA and the Soviet Union ramps up.

Speaking about his character, Mikkelsen said: "He’s a man who would like to correct some of the mistakes of the past. There is something that could make the world a much better place to live in. He would love to get his hands on it. Indiana Jones wants to get his hands on it as well. And so, we have a story."

Joining the cast alongside Mikkelsen and Ford will also be Phoebe Waller-Bridge and it was revealed at the D23 conference earlier this year that she will be playing Indy’s goddaughter, Helena.

Speaking at the D23 expo, Ford told the audience as he pointed at Waller-Bridge: “I’m very proud to say that this one is fantastic, and this is one of the reasons.

“Indiana Jones movies are about mystery and adventure, but they’re also about heart and I’m really, really happy that we have a really human story to tell, as well as a movie that will kick your ass.”
