Beyoncé has called US gymnast Simone Biles “brilliant” and “inspiring” in a sweet new video made especially for the Olympics star.

Scored with the ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ and ‘Formation’ singer’s recent track ‘Just For Fun’, the NBC Sports video paid tribute to the US Gymnastics star who has successfully bounced back into dominating in her sport despite often being the victim of harsh criticism of her career choices and racism in and outside of her field.

“Let’s talk about power, cause really, that’s what this story’s about” Beyoncé says at the beginning of the US broadcaster’s tribute video to the gymnastics star.

“Physical power. It’s beauty, its wonder, the way it never stops amazing you. Then there’s spiritual power,” she continued. “The kind that really matters. The power you can’t see, only sense. The power you need in those moments when life goes a little sideways on you.

“And of course, lasting power,” Beyoncé added. “Only a select few know what it feels like to get to the top, and stay there, and somehow keep getting better.”

“Simone Biles inspires me, and I’m pretty sure she inspires you too,” the multi-Grammy award-winning artist said. “Such confidence in her strength, such beauty in her power, such a great lesson in her story.

“Brilliance, it doesn't come easy. Gold can be a hell of a journey, and the greatest of all time is willing to put that title on the line every time she walks out there. Take your best shot world, she’s ready for you,” the star’s tribute finished.

Beyoncé’s inspiring video was released by NBC prior to Simone’s historic win in the all-around gymnastics competition at the Paris Olympic Games yesterday (1st August). Simone won the same gold medal prize in Rio in 2016, but pulled out of Tokyo’s 2020 all-around challenge and so could not defend her title.

Her win in Paris yesterday night makes Biles the oldest winner of the all-around in 72 years, and the first gymnast to ever win non-consecutive all-around Olympic titles - a huge feat in a sport where youth is usually a huge advantage.
