Freddie Mercury's nephew, Samuel Balsara, has opened up about how he honours his uncle.
Speaking exclusively to virginradio.co.uk at the BMI London awards, Samuel also talked about another musical icon of his.
"I'm just very proud of my uncle and I'm very happy to be here tonight," he said.
Asked who his musical icon was, Samuel mentioned one lady in particular: "I’d probably choose Amy Winehouse, she was a big inspiration to me growing up and I love her music. So definitely Amy Winehouse."
Samuel also talk about his memories of Freddie.
Talking about the Queen star, he recalled: "I was very young when he passed away so my memories are quite vivid, but I- just, he had a lot of love for his family. So that's probably my memories of him."
Freddie Mercury and Queen were acknowledged for hitting landmark streaming numbers.
'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' and 'We Are The Champions' hit 8 million plays.
Fans have recently been able to see a huge collection of Freddie's personal artefacts before they were put up for auction.
However, Brian May wasn't happy about the sale.
He admitted: "To us, his closest friends and family, it’s too sad."
May wrote: "Inescapably thinking so much about Freddie in these strange days. At the time this photo was taken I’m sure it didn’t seem very important to see Freddie’s fingers dancing on my own home-made guitar.
"Now it summons up waves of affection and great memories. He is so missed. Tomorrow while I’m speaking passionately to Welsh farmers about cows and badgers and bovine TB, Freddie’s most intimate personal effects, and writings that were part of what we shared for so many years, will go under the hammer, to be knocked down to the highest bidder and dispersed forever. I can’t look. To us, his closest friends and family, it’s too sad."
