Are our noses getting any bigger? Nope, the brand new Pinocchio trailer has dropped and you won't believe the star-studded line up including Ewan McGregor as narrator Sebastian J cricket and Cate Blanchett as la colombe.

Directed by Academy Award-winner Guillermo del Toro and due out around Christmas 2022, it's the vintage tale of the wooden boy whose nose grows longer every time he tells a porky pie.

A catalogue of Brit stars can be heard in the animation including Harry Potter's David Bradley as Geppetto, Greggory Mann (Potato Peel Pie Society) as Pinocchio and Tilda Swinton as Okja.

The 41-second teaser begins in a dark room with Sebastian J cricket lighting a match and opening up a book telling viewers they think they know the classic tale inside out, but they really don't.

Del Toro said in a previous statement: “No art form has influenced my life and my work more than animation and no single character in history has had as deep of a personal connection to me as Pinocchio.

“In our story, Pinocchio is an innocent soul with an uncaring father who gets lost in a world he cannot comprehend. He embarks on an extraordinary journey that leaves him with a deep understanding of his father and the real world. I’ve wanted to make this movie for as long as I can remember.”

Fans applauded: "The animation is fantastic!!!"

Another added: "I had no idea this was going to be stop motion, what a pleasant surprise!"

A third praised: "This movie is my most anticipated film of the decade! Ever since I heard about this film and it’s concept art I was hyped."
